My favorite recipe this week is at The Inspired Room. Apple Pie in a Jar. It requires canning, which I have never done before, but my mom or grandmother canned quite a bit when I was a kid, so they could help with this. I'm going back to the orchard to get some more affordable, delicious seconds. The article suggests that this would make a great holiday hostess gift, I think that is a great idea!



As many blogs have posted, the holidays are right around the corner. Here are a couple to read and ponder:

10 Weeks till Christmas: Start (or Finish) your gift shopping at Simple Mom. Yikes, I am not one to shop throughout the year for Christmas gifts. We are the crazy people that you see on Black Friday morning looking for the deals and starting our holiday shopping.
