Foraging through Target for holiday clearance is an annual sport for me. I stopped there this morning to return something and noticed a woman approaching the registers with a cart filled with holiday merchandise. I knew at that moment that I stopped by on the right day. The holiday clearance is 75% off and at this point the stuff is flying out of the store.
I did pick up a couple of rolls of gift wrap and a holiday table cloth, but I was really looking for items that I'll use on an everyday basis. Today, I found holiday boxes of Puffs tissues for 49 cents each and holiday Softsoap for 74 cents. I had a 50 cent coupon for the Softsoap...sweet. There was a ton of Glade smelly sprays and candles, but I don't care for that kind of stuff.
The key to finding the everyday items is to look in the individual departments, not in the holiday department in the back of the store. The tissues were unmarked in the tissue department. The Softsoap was in the soap department. This is one time where you have to walk down the aisles not just the famous Target perimeter.
The Oreos were in the holiday department and I about squealed with delight when I scanned them at 69 cents. Yes, I know what they are made of and it is a pure guilty pleasure for me.
I did pick up a few items for the kids for their Easter baskets. I saw many things that I personally don't need, but would be a great time to buy if you needed flannel sheets, bath towels, kitchen towels, dishes and rugs. The bath towels seemed really nice and were red and green striped.
Happy foraging!
