Have you been busy this week?
Yesterday, we cleaned off our desks. I don’t know about you, but I feel so much better now that my desk is clear.
We also resolved to regularly discuss our finances with our spouse. I’m reconciling our accounts and updating our Family Balance Sheet to prepare for the meeting with my husband. Have you scheduled your meeting yet? My offer of a FREE Family Balance Sheet spreadsheet is always open when you are ready. Just go to the “free FBS template” tab at the top of the page for more information.
Today’s resolution: Organize Your Home Office.
Now that the desk top is clear, the files, piles, bills, statements, and receipts also need to be sorted and organized. Some things to read and implement:
- How Long Should We Keep our Financial Documents
- A Binder System for Organizing Your Office and Your Life
- Create a Monthly To-Do List to Keep Yourself On Task
We have not yet taken the leap to go paperless in our home office, but our accountant is giving us some ideas and assuring me that it is possible. As I go through the process, I will report our progress back to you.
What tips do you have for organizing your home office? Let us know in the comments.
