Are you ready for a fresh start? After the year we’ve had, I think we all are!

If your fresh start for the New Year includes improving your finances, you are not alone! Saving more money is one of the top resolutions that people make…after getting in shape and eating healthier.

My mission has always been to help families build a strong financial plan, gain confidence with their money, and live the life of their dreams. That is why I created Family Budget Spreadsheets–a bundle of spreadsheets that we personally use to plan and budget our money.

For 2021, the bundle includes 10 spreadsheets, 2 trackers, and 2 pdfs. The entire bundle is designed to help you take control of YOUR money and the good news is that I kept the bundle at the affordable price of $15!

This package is designed to help you organize your finances, create a budget, plan for major purchases, understand your cash flow, and track your net worth.

Family Budget Spreadsheets

Many years ago, we could say yes to the questions in the above graphic.

This blog was based on my very first spreadsheet, the Family Balance Sheet. I created it as a way to communicate our finances to my husband. That first family balance sheet sparked my love for spreadsheets, and over the years I created many more out of necessity.

To plan for our monthly spending, I started searching online for a budget spreadsheet. I found a lot of printable (pdf) budgets, but couldn’t find a spreadsheet that I liked. I created a Monthly Budget spreadsheet because I like formulas.

Years ago, there was a month where I hadn’t planned on a large property tax bill and I wasn’t sure where we were going to find the money. We scrambled to find the cash, but at that moment I created the Personal Escrow spreadsheet because I NEVER wanted to have that frantic feeling again.

One January, we received a very large credit card bill in the mail. I knew it was coming because we hadn’t planned for all of the gifts we bought in December and used a credit card to pay for them. I created the Gift Spending Budget spreadsheet to start planning for the next Christmas because I NEVER wanted to feel that out of control again. When the following Christmas rolled around, we were able to use cash and slept quite soundly in January knowing there wouldn’t be any large bills in our mailbox.

One summer, we didn’t have enough money to cover vacation and some day trips, so we hosted a yard sale to find the extra cash. I created my Summer Budget Spreadsheet because I never wanted to feel that we couldn’t afford a camping trip again.

In 2016, we had some appliances that were starting to not work very efficiently. They were older units and we sucked the life out of them as long as we could. Knowing that newer models aren’t cheap, I devised a plan…and a spreadsheet. I created my Special Purchases spreadsheet to help us plan for new appliances. We were able to set aside the money over a course of 16 months and it felt amazing to walk into a store and have the cash for a purchase.

I am a planner by nature, so I leaned into my spreadsheets. I hated feeling out of control with our money, so I created them to gain a sense of control, freedom, and optimism. We could afford a camping trip, we could pay our tax bill on time, and we could pay cash for Christmas, but we needed to PLAN for it.

The 2021 Family Budget Spreadsheets bundle includes:
