October 27, By Kristia 1 Comment

In the month of October, my challenge will be to find $1000.  Mondays thru Saturdays in October, I will have ideas to help you find $1000 too. On Sundays, we’ll meet here to catch our breath, and let everyone know how we’re finding our $1000.

31 Days to Find $1000 400X400

I was out of town last weekend for a half marathon. I was a complete noodle when I came home on Sunday and I didn’t have the energy to write a recap post, so today is the third recap when it should be #4. oh well…

Our Found Cash: $492

  • $250 Bank of America cash rewards
  • $80 from the sale of the Wii
  • $50 returns
  • $57 from cashing in loose change.
  • $55 from our yard sale.

The $55 from the yard sale might seem like it was hardly worth our time, but we didn’t have any big ticket items to unload. We had a sale in the summer where we got rid of a lot of junk. The $55 was  from clothing and miscellaneous clutter from around my house. We were tagging on to the sale our neighbors across the street were having. This was their very first yard sale. They are downsizing and moving next month and sold over $500 worth of stuff. They were extremely pleased. Their sale was Friday and Saturday. I just sold stuff on Friday, but my girls set up a lemonade stand on Saturday and made $20. They were thrilled too.

I’m only half way towards my goal. I’m a little nervous about reaching it, but remember October was a needs only month, so I plan on including any money that was leftover from our budget that we didn’t’ spend. My next and final recap will be on October 31.
How much cash have you found this month? Let us know in the comments.

I have just been trying not to spend so not sure how much I have saved. I have made some money in the past by participating in a survey for a marketing company. I knew someone who worked there but they also advertise on the grocery store bulletin board and Craigs list. I believe i was paid $20-25 to watch a video and answer questions. My kid also participated in one and received a free toys
