MorningStar Farms

The school year may be coming to an end, but my family’s schedule will be just as crazy over the summer. We are a busy and active family all year round and I am always looking for meals and snacks that are easy to prepare when our schedule gets hectic, yet good for us too.

I was invited to try MorningStar Farms products as part of their More Ways to Eat Smart summer campaign. With over 30 products and 600 recipes, MorningStar Farms offers a wide variety of meatless options, such as veggie burgers and patties, pizzas, and wings.

There are 12 different veggie burger varieties to choose from that provide a good source of protein. MorningStar Farms is always introducing new products and flavors too. The newest products include Roasted Garlic & Quinoa Burger, Parmesan Garlic Wings, Mediterranean Chickpea Pizza, and Baja Black Bean Pizza.

With so much variety, it was hard to choose, but we decided to try the Spicy Black Bean Burger, the Original Veggie Sausage, and the Buffalo Chik’n Patties.

Spicy Black Bean Burger

MorningStar Farms Spicy Black Bean Burger

Made with black beans, brown rice, corn, and tomatoes, this burger was flavorful, but not too spicy as the name might imply. My 8 year old devoured it and she doesn’t like spicy foods.

MorningStar Farms burgers can be heated in the microwave, skillet, or the grill.  Instead of a bun, I opted for a wrap and layered on lettuce, avocado, salsa, and a little cheese. We really enjoyed this wrap and my 8 year old even requested it the next day for breakfast.

And speaking of breakfast, my family loves breakfast burritos, so I used the Original Veggie Sausage for a meatless version. I scrambled some eggs, heated up the sausage in the microwave and layered them on a tortilla with avocado, salsa and cheese.

Buffalo Chik’n Patties

For a change of pace, I made the Buffalo Chik Cobb Salad that I found on MorningStar Farm’s website. I order the chicken version often when dining out and MorningStar Farms’ meatless version has the same spicy flavor that I love. This was an easy salad to pull together and made a delicious lunch.

With so many options to choose from, MorningStar Farms offers a variety of products that are versatile, flavorful, and easy to prepare. They are pre-cooked, so they just need to be heated up. If you have more time, you can grill the burgers, but when you’re on the go like my family often is, they taste just as delicious heated up in the microwave.     Ive tried them all!!
    I eat these DAILY! I started feeding my infant twins this as well! They LOVE the maple flavored breakfast sausages! My husband and I LOVE the Buffalo Chik patties! Thank you Morningstar for such DELICIOUS healthy food items to choose from, these are the ONLY meat products we eat! 🙂

    I love bean burgers as they can be one of the cheapest sources of protein available for a student. I’m all about saving the money so would make my own first but if I was in a rush or fancied a night off from being frugal, these burgers do look tasty and I love your recipe ideas.
