Every Friday, I share what we ate for the week on our budget. Currently our monthly budget is $500 for my family of 4.

peapod

I tried something new this week. I ordered our groceries online through Peapod and had them delivered to my door. It was AWESOME.

Last week, I took advantage of a $20 off coupon for first time users and chose the pick up option instead of delivery, because the delivery times were booked and I wanted to use the coupon. The store is very close to our office, so picking up was convenient.

This week, I received an email promotion for free delivery if I bought $30 worth of specified products. The products were all things that I was going to buy anyway, so I took advantage of the promotion and had our groceries delivered on Monday. I saved myself about an hour and half in time and it just cost me the tip.

Have you tried a grocery delivery service? What are your thoughts?

Our dinners this week:

Saturday: We had store bought, pub steak burgers, spinach salad, corn on the cob and watermelon. I probably paid a little more for the burgers, but they were delicious.

Sunday: We bought two $5 Little Cesar’s pizzas and went to the pool to have dinner.

Monday: grilled sausages, grilled asparagus, fresh fruit.

Tuesday:  grilled chicken pasta salad.

Wednesday: Grilled Pineapple & Teriyaki Turkey Burgers, corn on the cob, pasta salad.

Thursday: We had fair food for dinner at Jubilee Day, the largest, longest-running, one-day street fair on the East Coast.

Friday: We’re going to a birthday party and I don’t have to cook–woohoo!

This Week’s Breakfasts, Lunches and Snacks

Breakfasts included cereal, green smoothies, eggs & toast. For lunches and snacks, we ate egg salad sandwiches, ham & cheese sandwiches, oranges, apples, pretzels, and cheese sticks.
