If you guessed this girl, you would be correct!
If you’re a long time reader, you’ll remember that I turned 40 once.
That birthday was surreal too, but back then I was in a mommy fog with my 3 and 1 1/2 year olds.
Now, those squirts are 13 and 11, and I’m in a middle school fog…prayers are much appreciated…lol
Over the past year, I’ve been watching my high school and college class mates turn 50…thank you Facebook, and in September, I joined the club.
Leading up to September I flip-flopped between wanting to throw up and wanting to punch 50 like nobody’s business.
But when the day came, I was overwhelmed by gratitude for a beautiful life of family, friends, and many many blessings, and that nauseous feeling subsided.
My family doted on me so much that I forgot it was a milestone birthday and when my birthday week was over and the attention wasn’t on me anymore, I realized that 50 is really the new 30.
At least that’s what all my 50 year old friends are telling me.
So as I navigate the waters of this new decade, I will embrace 50.
Do I have any other choice?
