skip the AM drive-thru

There was a time years ago that I stopped at a bagel shop every morning before work to pick up breakfast and coffee. After a few weeks, I quickly realized that I was spending about $25 a week on just breakfast. YIKES! I cut out my habit and got myself out of bed a few minutes earlier so I could brew my own coffee and make a quick breakfast before heading off to work, saving myself some cash.

4 Quick & Easy Breakfast Ideas to Help You Avoid the Drive-Thru

  • Baked oatmeal – My personal favorite breakfast. Bake on Sunday night and keep refrigerated all week. Heat your serving up in the microwave and add a little milk. Try Banana Walnut Baked Oatmeal or Blueberry Pecan Baked Oatmeal.
  • 2 Minute Oatmeal – a quick, healthy & inexpensive breakfast.
  • Egg & Sausage Burritos (Freezer Recipe) – prepare a batch and store in the freezer.
  • Pancakes – Make a double batch over the weekend and store in the freezer. In the morning, just pop them in the toaster for a quick breakfast. Try Chocolate Chip Pancakes or Banana Nut Pancakes.

Do you hit the drive-thru too much? How much do you think you spend? Let us know in the comments.
